Strange hole in the roof?

Hello all :-)

I've found some strange behaviour, and I can't find the cause of it.

If you look at the image below, you can see that on the left wall there is a "ray" of white light coming from above, as well as a line of white light in the roof.

The problem is that there is no hole in the roof, and all the lights in that part are magenta.

I have deleted the floor/ceiling and put it in again, but that doesn't solve the problem.

The design itself is very simple: just a few walls, floor/ceiling and some louvres in the ceiling to filter the light down. The only special thing is that there are MANY lights, maybe 200 or so. (here is the original file )

Who can help to solve this riddle?
Thanks in advance.

Hans

Hans, wouldn't your problem be bound to color addition? wink

Re: Strange hole in the roof?

Emmanuel,

That's what I first thought. Well, not first, because the thought came to me when I was halfway writing a post. So, I stopped, deleted the blue and green lights and made a new render. Still the same white spots.

I really tried to be as thorough as I could before posting. I think the image below shows it quite clearly.

So, anyone with smart ideas?

Maybe you kept ceiling lights check box selected?

Re: Strange hole in the roof?

Emmanuel,

Indeed, that was the problem! I started designing in v2.6 and then switched to v3.b5 and later to v3.b6. I guess saving the model, didn't (completely) save the status of the inbuilt render program?

Thank you for your help.

Re: Strange hole in the roof?

As explained here, most of the settings set in the Advanced rendering plug-in are not copied back to the version 3.0 renderer.
But if ever, there's still a need for an advanced rendering plug-in in the future, it will use the settings in common with Sweet Home 3D v3.
