Libraries
of additional 3D models
From version 1.3, it's possible to import directly the libraries
of 3D models described above in the
furniture catalog of Sweet Home 3D. These libraries are available as
SH3F files in SweetHome3D-models section at Sweet Home 3D download
page.
A SH3F file can be installed by simply double-clicking on it or by choosing Furniture > Import furniture
library
from the menu. This will copy the SH3F file in the furniture plugin folder of Sweet Home 3D, and the
location of this folder
depends
on your
system:
- Under Windows Vista / 7 / 8, this folder is C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\eTeks\Sweet Home
3D\furniture,
- under Windows XP and previous versions of Windows, this folder is C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\eTeks\Sweet Home
3D\furniture,
- under Mac OS X, it's the subfolder Library/Application Support/eTeks/Sweet Home 3D/furniture of your
user folder,
- under Linux and other Unix, it's the subfolder .eteks/sweethome3d/furniture of your user folder.
To uninstall a SH3F file, simply remove it from furniture plugin folder
and restart Sweet Home 3D.
If needed, you may create your own SH3F files with the downloadable
Furniture
Library Editor.
Create your 3D models
To create your own models, you may use any software able to generate files at OBJ, DAE / Collada, 3DS or LWS format.
If you want to contribute to additional models in Sweet Home 3D, please post them in 3D
Models Contributions Tracking System.
Other web sites with 3D models
The following sites offer also some 3D models at OBJ, DAE, 3DS or LWS formats
supported by the furniture import wizard of Sweet Home 3D:
For Trimble
3D Warehouse models available only in SKP/SketchUp format, it is
possible to easily convert them to DAE/Collada format by choosing File
> Export > 3D Model... out of the menu in the free version
of SketchUp.
If Sweet Home 3D refuses to import some of the ZIP files
proposed on these sites, please unzip them first.
Please respect the license of the models that you may download on these web sites.
