Re: Furniture and Textures

First note the difference between a Furniture Library and the Furniture Catalog.
The catalog is what you see in the top left pane in Sweet Home 3D. A Furniture Library is a .sh3f file that you can import and then it show the containing furniture in the Catalog pane.

For Textures it's more or less the same although you only see the Texture catalog when you modify furniture and click "Texture" to set a texture. A Texture Library is a .sh3t file with textures you can import and after import they will show in the selection list for textures when you change the texture for an object.

For furniture there are two options to import: individual objects (Menu Furniture, Import furniture) or you can import a Furniture library (Menu Furniture, Import furniture library). You can also drag an .obj file into the 2Dview pane and you will get the same import dialog as through the menu. In that dialog you can set in which catagory you want the furniture to be shown. Besides the .obj 3Dmodel files you can also import DAE, LWS, KMZ, and 3DS models. You can also import a zip file that contains one or more of these files.
You can use the Furniture Library Editor tool to create your own furniture library. Read about it here: http://www.sweethome3d.com/support/forum/viewthread_thread,1550 . It's a separate tool that allows you to set more specific properties for furniture.
For textures there's a Texture Library Editor .
