Crashing gets worse??
Emmanuel:
Attached you will find the rather sad result of trying to design a simple house using SH3D, the Sandwich House.
What did I do? I seem to remember that when exporting an OBJ no extra floor would be inserted. However, v2.4 and v2.5 both show a complete floor on exporting an object with a partial floor and/or ceiling made with the ROOMS function. Only when exporting a floor made of flattened boxes, is it possible to get a really open floor.
In order to test the difference I tried to use v2.2 and v2.3 to see whether this would make a difference. Before I did that I already had been working with v2.4 and v2.5b4. I then experienced a series of crashes as I haven't had before. All of them occurring on opening the file, on importing furniture, etc etc, when the file itself was only 2.3 Mb. (Remember we're talking about my Ubuntu PC with 4 GB of memory)
Attached you will find the file and ten, or so, log files. The last two log files are from v2.4 and v2.5b5 after removing ALL plug-ins from their directory. I did this to check if maybe the crashes were caused by one of the plug-ins.

Re: Crashing gets worse??
Hans, the image you use as wooden floor texture is too large (2048 x 2048 pixels). Even my iMac has some difficulties to handle your Sandwich house because of it.
A tip for the next time: I don't want you to become a programer, but if you have look at the log files you posted, you'll see in the paragraph following the word "Stack" some lines mentioning "_mesa_texstore", "updateTexture2DImage"... that made me think your problem was bound to textures. My initial thought was confirmed by the size of some images in your SH3D file. Once I reduced the wooden floor image to 256 x 256 pixels, your Sandwich house was displayed with no problem.
By the way, note that only the Copy a new furniture plug-in doesn't add any extra floor.

Thank you very much. You solved (part of) a mystery I was wondering about.
I was planning (and maybe I'll still do it) a series of tests with textures. I already noticed that "size matters", and that there are a few other restrictions with textures as well (not handling transparency, not being able to deal with colour space coded jpg's). If you remember the "house with the double roof"-problem... the same floorboard texture may have caused those problems. I'll reduce the size of that texture and see what happens.
One remark on the side: I have used that floorboard texture of 2048x2048 before extensively, and at that time it didn't seem to cause any problems. So maybe, just maybe, a change has been made to some part of the code that handles textures? My guess would be that version 1.3 or 1.4 handled that texture without problems.
