Sweet Home 3D for Mac ARM Silicon
Now that Java is available for Mac ARM, I recently tried to adapt Sweet Home 3D to make it able to run under this promising architecture. It was a little complicated because it required to recompile JOGL libraries too (JOGL is the bridge between Java 3D and OpenGL libraries), and as I knew that questions about performances would soon arise, I had to also recompile YafaRay libraries to provide a plug-in able to run under this system. If you have the chance to have one of these new computers, you'll find two ways to run Sweet Home 3D on it, either with the SweetHome3D-6.4.2b-macosx.dmg file (81.6 MB) which includes an OpenJDK environment, or with the JAR Executable SweetHome3D-6.4.2b-jogl-2.4.0-rc-20210111.jar (25.5 MB) which will require to install Java.
Note that the application contained in the DMG file could be notarized, so you won't need to launch it with a right click. It's also able to run under Intel macs at least from macOS 10.13.
