SweetEnergy3D
Hello, I tried to create a plugin to export the 3D model to Energy3D format in order to conduct an energy study. It's quite complicated because you have to recreate all the walls, and Energy3D blocks roofs, etc. But in the end, I have something that works.

A very interesting project. Great that you used Sweet Home 3D as a base for constructing the buildings. It's for a small group of Sweet Home 3D users but nevertheless important and useful. Also great that it is open source and available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

The linux-64 folder is missing. I tried (not very hard) to make it work, but without success. The fact that it is open source is very good! In my opinion, this could be more of a new feature for SH3D (as a plugin for analyzing a house's energy) than a conversion to an energy3d file.

Re: SweetEnergy3D
Hi, I think you're talking about Energy3D that has no compiled Linux version. The SH3D plugin is no OS-dependant if I tested well (I have no MacOS for that...). Well I compiled and tested only windows version (that's what I have in schools I work), and the source tells that it is compatible...if someoone could elp me test on another OS, feel free. Thanks for helping. A plugin for house's analyzing is much far compilcated than just converting for another tool...but I can change the plugin to embed Energy3D now that building conversion works.

Indeed. To test your plugin I've needed to have a functionally Energy3D. Being under linux I've can't do that. On the other hand I was interested in how Energy3D make roofs.
I can change the plugin to embed Energy3D
That what I've suggested. You could start with some basic enhancements, not with the hole complexity of the subject. E.g. SunFlow and YafaRay already made some needed parts. I have already some ideas for Energy leak, Comfort issue, or many others. If you wish we could discourse about this.

I'm not responsible in any way of Energy3D, if you want to add this kind of functionnalities in SH3D, I wish you good luck :-D I'm not expert at all with this kind of calculation, just simple user for kids. Embedding Energy3D in a SH3D plugin occurs problem because they have totally different depndancies for 3D. I'll have a look....
