Re: Generate roof plugin
@hansmex In this case I don't know how to help you I could suggest you an classical solution: 1. Backup your current SH3D installation.(rename actual sweethome3d folder to sweethome3dBak or whatever) 2. Install the official v.7.5 from this site.(free) 3. Install the corrected version of RoofGenerator-v.5.1.sh3p Note: Be sure to download and install the last corrected version. Considering this, I suggest also to delete ALL RG versions from Download folder and download again before installing to be sure you double click on the correct file. Please let me know if that works OR what error appears in the terminal. Good luck and I wait!

Re: Generate roof plugin
I'm a newbie in Sweet Home 3D, but I've gotten to the point where I want to install a roof window in my roof.Unfortunately, I'm not managing to do it.Following this thread, I have Sweet Home 3D 7.5, Generate Roof 4.5, and Roof Windows 0.1 available under Kubuntu (Linux). Now, when I drag a roof window from the library into my RoofGen level, it stays horizontal and doesn't adapt to the angle of the roof. What am I doing wrong? Re: Generate roof plugin
Another Question, maybe a dumb one: How to create a flat-roof ?
I use an extra level with very low walls as a border and a room for the roof. You can also use a box.

Re: Generate roof plugin
Sorry, but I don't understand that. I already used a box. But the generator always makes a sloped roof and I don't now, how I can make it flat. Making all the angles 0° has very weird results ...

Don't use the roof generator for a simple flat roof. Use a room or a box as I explained, no need for a generator.

Re: Generate roof plugin
Hello!
I finally have taken the time to test this plugin, And here is my humble opinion:
It is amazing! As you've seen, I spent days building the roof parts that work as a pieces of LEGO to build roofs. But, this plugin, summarizes it in few seconds, overcoming the troubles of making roofs in the traditional way (building and rotating triangles). That's why I built the parts... I know absolutely nothing about programming.
Roof Generating plugin just amazed me.
It doesn't leave tips of roof inside. Textures are set properly in all faces (tiles drain water to down). You can personalize the roof. The base (ceiling of the attic) could be generated as well, if you copy and then paste the roof and then set the copy below, with proper modifications.
And, If don't matter, I'll tell you what would make it perfect (I've just try):
If square or even round holes could be opened in parts of the roof. It could be set in one of two ways:
1. In the dialog of the plugin, before the roof generation. 2. Making the roof object, once generated, to act as a room when a stair is inserted, or a wall when a door or window is inserted.
This could allow the creation of everything else: Dormers, chimneys, monitor roofs, skylights, vents...
Congratulations. This has been a dream plugin. I'll give one of my hands to know programming and cooperate instead of only suggest.
Have a nice day, and thank you so much for your work!
