Sweet Home 3D keeps loading hidden recovery files, freezes
Hello,
I am experiencing a persistent problem in Sweet Home 3D: every time I start the program, it automatically attempts to open restored files from a previous session, which causes the program to freeze immediately.
The original project file is over 71 MB, and there are 4 restored/recovery files of similar size, which I believe is why the program locks up when attempting to open them.
I have already tried the following:
Closing Sweet Home 3D completely via Task Manager.
Performing a full uninstall and reinstall of Sweet Home 3D.
Starting the program via a “clean” temporary folder using a modified shortcut (“Start in” set to an empty folder).
Searching for .sh3d files on my system and temporarily moving all restored or recent files to a backup location.
Despite all of the above, Sweet Home 3D still opens these invisible restored files and freezes on startup.
Could you please advise how to fully reset or clear the internal restored files cache so I can safely start the program without it automatically loading these files?

Re: Sweet Home 3D keeps loading hidden recovery files, freezes
I'm a linux user but, your path is not OK for WINDOWS. SH3D, under WINDOWS have the working path at:
C:\Users\User\Application Data\eTeks\Sweet Home 3D
Under this folder you have some other folders: -furniture -languages -plugins -recovery -textures -work and the preferences file. Navigate on this path (don't ask me how to do under WINDOWS) and delete work & recovery folders. Usually it appears only when you open an existing .sh3d file. Don't worry, will be recreated when needed. Probably this could solve your problem. Good luck!
