Re: swimming pool elevation
Depends how you design your pool and whether you use a model of a pool. Try using a negative level (Add Level, and edit it to the "bottom of the pool", say -220cm).

You can draw your pool as a room with walls on the negative (subterranean) level where the walls protrude above ground to form the edge of the pool.

ok

Re: swimming pool elevation
Pools can be done with much of the same approach as terrain geometry. Posted an example of a pool (in sh3d format) with some extra pool models.

Hope this can be of help.

ok

Re: swimming pool elevation
Noticed the new blog post on how to design a swimming pool, with an example .sh3d file. Thanks, useful guidance to the basic steps of how to create a pool, using textures, curved walls and do model design with the help of SH3D. And a very nice design too.
