.3ds model looses its color I'm using sweet Home 3D Version 4.2. I've downloaded .3ds models from the site http://archive3d.net/. when they are importing in sweet home the color of the models disppears and some models appears in splitted manner i.e ( a gate appears in three different parts) whereas .shd files are importing correct. why this is happening? |

Re: .3ds model looses its color It happens because archive3d.net wants you to BUY their models. So, the free models are only in white. H ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |

Re: .3ds model looses its color Hans, where did you get that information? Isn't it rather the same old issues with the 3DS loader? ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: .3ds model looses its color You will see a caveat on Model import page: http://www.sweethome3d.com/importModels.jsp - that many of archive3d models cannot be imported. Sometimes, though, the elements are specified and can be edited in SH3D (or other software). Other times they also appear fragmented/shifted/split. However, this happens not only in SH3D import but in other software (such as Blender) as well, whenever I have tried. In addition, some of the model files are too big and have copyright limitations that makes them less than an ideal choice. ok |
