A Small Tip for Making Room Renders Look More Natural

Post by cedricvale »

One thing that can make a room render look a bit odd is when all the lights have the same brightness. In a real room, some areas naturally stand out while others stay a little darker.

when setting up a room in Sweet Home 3D, try using the main lights for general illumination and softer lighting for areas like shelves or kitchen cabinets. it can give the room more depth without making every corner equally bright.

doing a quick test render before changing lots of settings also makes it easier to see what is actually improving the result.
