Hi everyone,
I'm working on a project in Sweet Home 3D and I'm trying to create a gazebo roof that sits between two buildings. I would like to shape the roof into a trapezoid rather than using a standard rectangular or symmetrical shape.
I'm also wondering about the best way to create other irregular polygonal shapes in Sweet Home 3D and then apply or modify textures on those shapes. Is there a built-in method for doing this, or would I need to create a custom 3D model?
Any advice, recommended tools, or examples of how to achieve this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
How can I create a trapezoid roof and customize irregular shapes with textures?

Install the ShapeGenerator plugin. With that plugin you can create shapes by defining 8 vertices (points).I'm also wondering about the best way to create other irregular polygonal shapes in Sweet Home 3D and then apply or modify textures on those shapes. You can create more complex structures by combining shapes and exporting them together. Basically you are creating custom models.
You can use this for your trapezoid roof, probably by combining a few shapes. The ShapeEditor has one great advantage for this: if you can use the corner coordinates from where the roof must be placed then after generating the shape it will be placed in your project using those coordinates. You can use (temporary) walls to determine coordinates by looking at the start/end points of walls. (Use the correct height too!)
