Renaming/Deleting initial furniture catgories

Post by otadmin »

I use the FurnitureEditor to create a new set of categories to sort my downloaded furniture. However, the categories and furniture which came with the initial install are not listed in the editor but appear in the sweethome window when opened. One example is the category "Bedroom". I deleted all .sh3f files but the bedroom furniture still shows when SH is started.
Where is this furniture when not in a .sh3f file and how do I integrate it into my new .sh3f file?

delete all items in that category and the category disappears
or
rename the category for all items, for the same result

Those furniture objects are in the Java Furniture.jar file in the install Lib directory and load on startup.
Here is a FurnitureEmpty.jar with no furniture in it. Save your original Furniture.jar somewhere and copy this FurnitureEmpty.jar to Furniture.jar. When you now start Sweet Home 3D there will be no default furniture.

You can convert the .jar file to a normal .sh3f file but that takes some work because the formatting is a little different.
And of course with an update you get another Furniture.jar file and have to do it all again.

Thanks Keet, that advice to install the empty file worked. Was a little hidden in Linux Mint / Flatpak. After launching SH3D all was empty and I had to import my custom library. Now all is as I desired. Thanks
