Confused by basic wall drawing

Hi,

I'm using version 1.5, Java version 1.5.0_16 on a Mac, 10.5.5.

My question is around the simple operation of drawing the walls.

On a blank canvas I select 'Draw Walls in Plan' from the toolbar. Then click a start point in the top right pane. Now, when I move the mouse, a fix length line, the wall is created, moving the mouse increases/decreases the width of the wall, not the length as I would expect. There is no way to change the actual length of the wall at this point, just the thickness. If I click again it marks that point as the thickness of the wall. I have to escape/double click at this point, as further movement of the mouse will just increase the thickness of the this existing wall.

I assume this is not the correct behaviour?

Looking at the video tutorial it shows the user clicking and creating walls while following the imported blueprint, wall creation is not working in this way at all.

Thanks, Sam.

Re: Confused by basic wall drawing

Does the length in the tooltip match the value in the text field "Length at wall end" in wall dialog (choose Plan > Modify walls...) ?

Re: Confused by basic wall drawing

Aha!

Yep, that was the issue, many thanks. The thickness was set to a very large number (1000 cms!).

Thank you,

Sam.
