Re: Generic European Schuko wall socket – SH3F furniture library

the real difficulty in my case was to create balanced rectangular textures for the single electric fruits (obtained in the end with the icon resolution)......we are talking about objects that have dimensions of about 1 cm in width and less than 3 in height (the single ones and proportionally the others)

The technique for creating these objects, in my case, is quite complicated at first. Each support must contain multiple independent sub-objects that occupy the same space for all combinations of position and size of the support... for example, a 504 support IN A SINGLE PORTION OF SPACE contains 4 single objects, 3 double and 2 triple to then cover any permitted positioning of the electrical devices in the display but it follows very precise mathematical rules and practical rules as well since the blind electrical devices (those with a flat surface) are only single.

Re: Generic European Schuko wall socket – SH3F furniture library

The individual fruits were initially hypothesized with a solid base (in my case a very simple texturized cube deformed ad hoc) and with the application of the relative texture on the single external face but this made the texture flat and without depth. To obtain the effect I had to manipulate the objects creating a vertical edge that, combined with the surface, also incorporated the texture vertically (on the edge)... this thing produced a false three-dimensional (the texture filled the surface starting from the small vertical edge).

To do this quickly, I combined two cubes (the first with single texturized faces, the second with a single texture), staggering them and deleting the faces of the fully texturized one. Then I combined the remainder with the single-textured face in a single layer... the relative texture was now applied to the vertical mini portion together with the horizontal one. Once the object was obtained, I could then modify its dimensions.

But these are things that were done years ago and I'm actually just going by memory, so consider them as such.

Re: Generic European Schuko wall socket – SH3F furniture library

I am attaching a file showing how I have used this. In this instance, the structural components—the box partially recessed into the wall and the associated electrical conduits—are placed on a separate level dedicated to the actual MEP systems, while this specific level is reserved for the visible elements mounted against the wall. To overlay the textures, I used objects with one invisible face—a deliberate choice—resulting in an object that effectively lacks depth and is completely invisible when viewed from that side.
