Unable to store POV

I am a new user. I am trying to create a Home Assistant Dashboard floorplan. I need to be able to create multiple photo renders from exactly the same POV with various lights on/off (probably 40-50 separate images, as I have a lot of lights). For some reason the POV save feature doesn't work. It never returns to exactly the same position/view. Has anyone experienced this and can advise on a solution or on what I am doing wrong? Thanks

Re: Unable to store POV

Sweet Home 3D will save a maximum of 50 camera positions. You can create more but when you save the project it will only save the first 50.
There is a way around this with the CameraBag plugin. That plugin can export and import camera positions. That way you can create more than 50 camera positions and export them. When you save and restart your project only 50 will be saved but now you can import the exported camera bag to have all your camera points back for the duration of your work.

I suggest that you first install the Plugins Manager plugin. That will make installing and keeping up-to-date of all plugins much easier. You can install the CameraBag plugin using this Plugin Manager. Read more about the Plugin Manager here .

Someone else will have to help you with the position problem, I rarely use this and then only temporarily while working in a project.

Threads related to camera positioning, one of them might give you a clue to what you can try:

Re: Unable to store POV

hi. If you create renderers using a virtual viewer, for example, I do it very simply. I write down the necessary camera positions on paper, all the lines (X, Y, rotation, tilt of the head) including the height of the viewer's eyes. And then, at any moment, even after a few years, I can look at my brilliant interior from that very angle again. biggrin Paper and numbers are eternal. blushing

Re: Unable to store POV

Hey there! Welcome! That sounds like a super ambitious (and cool!) project. 40-50 images is a lot! I haven't used Home Assistant for that specifically, but I wonder if there's a way to script the camera position somehow?

Re: Unable to store POV

I recently faced a similar frustration when trying to create consistent dashboard views for my smart home setup. Like you, I needed multiple screenshots from identical angles but kept experiencing slight position shifts each time I attempted to reload the saved perspective. After troubleshooting, I discovered that clearing my browser cache and using the exact same resolution settings made a significant difference. I also found that manually noting coordinate values provided better consistency than relying solely on the auto-save feature. For stress relief during technical setups, I sometimes take breaks playing Block Blast to refresh my mind before tackling troubleshooting again.

Re: Unable to store POV

That sounds incredibly frustrating! The POV save not working is a killer for detailed projects like yours. While I haven't used Home Assistant specifically, I've run into similar camera angle issues in other creative platforms. You might find a workaround by meticulously noting down all your camera settings (position, rotation, field of view) for each render. Alternatively, have you considered using a digital grid overlayed on your floorplan to guide your POV? It's a bit like the level editor tools in Geometry Dash, but applied to 3D rendering! Maybe someone on the Home Assistant forums has a more specific solution though. Good luck! Geometry Dash

Re: Unable to store POV

Creating a Home Assistant floorplan with consistent viewpoints is tricky. Many struggle with POV saving. Perhaps try meticulously noting camera coordinates instead. It's tedious, like managing millions in Cookie Clicker , but precise! Alternatively, explore scripting solutions for camera placement

Re: Unable to store POV

Alright, so the floorplan's playing hide-and-seek with your point of view, eh? Frustrating, like trying to herd cats! Perhaps its a cache issue, or maybe the system has trouble with precise memory. Anyone out there wrestled with similar vanishing perspectives in Home Assistant? I experienced a time when my CAD software just refused to save camera angles correctly, sending me on a wild goose chase around my virtual design. The problem turned out to be a corrupted preferences file, something like that might affect the slope unblocked situation here? Maybe start there.
