sad 2D symbols not working

Title says it all. For a long time I have problems with placing 2D symbols. They are blank ...

Info:
- Version: bought via Microsoft Store
- I'm using Sweet home 3D on 2 machines (laptop and dekstop). Both have windows 11 H2. (for some reason the laptop one has a newer interface for Sweet Home 3D)
- I'm using 2D symbols from https://sourceforge.net/p/sweethome3d/d-models/325/#fdf9 that I found on this forum

Workaround:
Copy and paste from old files

Re: 2D symbols not working

2D symbols are basically the same as any other furniture. A 2D symbol from a 2D symbol library is an invisible box with a second icon added for display in the 2D view, a "planIcon". This icon can be different from the default icon.

In itself there is no reason why a 2D symbol should not display while other furniture does. The most likely reason is that they are hidden by other objects. Since they are the same as other furniture you can set an elevation. Increase the elevation and see if they show.

Re: 2D symbols not working

They are at 50cm above ground, this is standard. Increasing or decreasing the height does not work.

Looking at the parameters from both (regular vs copied from other project), they are all the same.

Extra info: I did remove Sweet home 3D and reinstalled it and adding the symbols again but to no avail.

Re: 2D symbols not working

Did you import the 2DSymbols library again? It only works using a library because individually imported models don't have the planIcon property.

Do you have the same problem with other 2Dsymbol libraries?

Re: 2D symbols not working

Yes, I have the same problem with other 2D symbol libraries. The furniture one for example also shows blank icons.

Sorry for the late answer as I did not need this software. But now I need it again and I still have this problem. I can not find anything online.

Re: 2D symbols not working

Check your preference settings: Furniture icons in plan.
Make sure it is set to Top view.

Re: 2D symbols not working

Open an empty sh3d file (a new session).
Go to Help->About... and post(link) here a screenshot.
Add few 2DSymbols to the plane. Post a screenshot with the program.
Possible in this way some of us could help you.

Re: 2D symbols not working

This 'works' but now all the icons have a square around them. Also the doors now have an icon above them.

Prove. Share a screenshot.
all the icons have a square around them
On 2D plan it is normal for all the furniture representation.
This squares will not be printed.
Also the doors now have an icon above them.
