Custom SH3D-based professional project – Looking for developers or guidance
Hello everyone,
I'm currently developing a professional design solution specifically for bathroom layout planning. After testing several tools, I’m seriously considering using Sweet Home 3D as the core engine due to its flexibility and open architecture.
The goal: to create a customized version of SH3D with a simplified interface, a specialized product catalog, configuration options (textures, dimensions, product variants…), and real-time graphical pricing (automatic quotes based on placed elements).
I’m currently looking for: 1. Developers who have previously forked or customized SH3D. 2. Feedback or case studies on similar projects. 3. Contact with Emmanuel Puybaret or core contributors of the project. 4. Suggestions on converting product models from `.skp` (SketchUp) to `.obj` or any SH3D-compatible format easily.
This project has a commercial scope (potentially a franchise or SaaS product), but of course, I intend to fully respect the GPL license. I’m also open to contributing back to the open source project where applicable.
Thanks in advance for your feedback, advice, or introductions!
Best regards,
Damien B.

Your very best bet would be to contact Emmanuel Puybaret. He is the original developer of SH3D and did several customization projects, eg French police and a chain of (optician?) shops.
