cartoon like / cell shader like render?
Would it be possible to have a renderer that renders a cartoon/cell shader style to look soemwhat like the SH3D logo, with black contour lines and cell shaded areas?

Such as:

- Make your design in Sketchup
- Export as 3D model - AND -
- In Options check "Export Edges"

This option inludes the black lines on the edges in the model.

No doubt there are other ways to achieve the same result...

I don't think it answers to your question, but if you want, I can send you the "real" model I did for the illustrations of this survey (see also the different versions I did for the survey itself).

You could post-process the SH3D image with a tool such The Gimp. Applying posterization and cartoon filters won't quite look as clean as the posted example, but it will certainly achieve the black shadowing.
