Merge two files My plan is getting complex and my graphic card is unable to cope. To speed things up I would like to put each level in a separate .sh3d file. This way I can work on each level faster. The problem is then combining the different files into one to have a 3d look of the whole thing. Copy and past in another file is not working in SH. Importing plans seems also be no option. Anybody has some advice apart from buying a more powerful computer? Michael |

Re: Merge two files Copy / paste from a file to another one always works in Sweet Home 3D if you open the second file from the File > Open or File > Open recent items in the menu of the first file. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Merge two files Copy and past in another file is not working in SH.. Thanks, now I understand why it works when I close down and re-open the files... if you open the second file from the File > Open... Anybody has some advice apart from buying a more powerful computer? - Increase memory (in FAQ)- Put stuff you do not need on hidden levels. - Un-check visible. - Enable displaying of Model size in furniture list and purge big models. - Use simpler models for the initial process and replace later (see SF 3D models 261, scroll down for compromises). |

Re: Merge two files Thanks! This is working indeed. Designing a passenger ship with 4 decks. Now I can furnish each deck seperatly and merge them for pictures as required. Merry Christmas. |
