For big family Here new creation for a big family with a total of 5 bedrooms (perhaps 6)...  2 separated buildings (day and night) connected by a glazed corridor. The sand is the grain, dust everywhere with the wind, and it is the barren desert... Re: For big family Hi again bdfd. I fhought that Q3 is the best for me in the past too. But I don't think it today. 1.3.1 is much better due to high level of antialiasing etc.. All you have to know is,that Q4... or silk in 1.3.1 are much more sensitive to shiness for example. It's only about to find the best key in material settings of every simple element of each model. In 1.3.1 silk settings you have to use higher AA if you don't want to have white spots on your final picture. But the result with higher AA is great cause picture looks more plastic and realistic I think. Try try try and try only. Sure you will find it. Re: For big family Haaaa I told you...if you find the key,you will love The difference is really visible. If I can to advise...try to decrease the shines of ficus tree leaves to total minimum. You will not have jelly leaves but really realistic tree.  I am happy that you love it |

Re: For big family The first level (or second floor) plans have changed. Now there is one bathroom near each pair of bedrooms.  In this house, there are 3 bathrooms and 4 toilets units. Re: For big family Thanks Martin. Looking at the new plan of the kitchen (by adding a bay window) I did a rotation of 20° to the left of the central cabinet and table. Re: For big family Lights and shadows makes it more realistic for me... 1.3.1 makes it more 'smooth'. Look at the shadow on the left door and wall. And there are more settings in shines of all models to create it more realistic. But sure...it's your choice...I saw only that you started to use 1.3.1 before,quality of your pics enhanced.... and now I see you stopped. That's why I asked why... It's only about priorities. |

Re: For big family Great! I've been looking at SH3D, LiveHome 3D, and Home Designer from Chief Architect. They all differ in complexity and cost. I know pretty much nothing about architecture, so I'm looking for something mainly easy to use, but also with a good amount of functionality. Mostly used for designing the "dream house"! Bob |

It is a true dream house...I doubt I can ever afford it, but it's fun planning, and looks like it will be fun getting into SH3D! Main idea is a log/timber frame style house. Not sure if SH3D can do that, but I know I can still do the layout and all the other interior/exterior ideas. Bob |

Re: For big family Hi Bob, traditional log houses are still proving their worth and if there is local access to wood, not necessarily that expensive. Btw, there are also some modern techniques that have brought the log style back into fashion (hollow logs, with special insulation and infrastructure (ventilation, electricity etc) built into the logs. Sort of fake, but they can look pretty good. Depends on your need for accuracy, but you can simulate a log/timber frame style house with textures and extending the walls. A couple of demo textures in SF 3D models 335, (see threads 5178 and 5434). ok   |

In Europe there are some Baltic companies specialising in custom log houses, made to measure, prefabricated, shipped and assembled on site. And some traditional builders that make them without costing the earth. ok |

Re: For big family Despite this first floor, it is a new home for big families. 5 bedrooms (each 13 m²) including one for twins (27 m²). Original form : crescent moon ! North view:  Large room of life : 100 m² (for lounges, dining room, kitchen, entry), 2 vérandas (15 and 25 m²), 1 lounge for books (25 m², visible above), 1 playroom for kids (20 m²).
