Rendering questions Hello guys, i got a few questions on rendering photo realistic images with SweetHome3d 4.6. 1. Black dots with Q3 settings I had the problem, that always lots of black dots appeared when rendering with Q3 settings. With Q4 everything was fine, however it took a while longer until finished. In the meantime i found several information about this problem and solved it by starting SH3D with following additional parameters: -Dcom.eteks.sweethome3d.j3d.PhotoRenderer.lowQuality.antiAliasing.min=1 -Dcom.eteks.sweethome3d.j3d.PhotoRenderer.lowQuality.antiAliasing.max=1 -Dcom.eteks.sweethome3d.j3d.PhotoRenderer.lowQuality.globalIllumination=default -Dcom.eteks.sweethome3d.j3d.PhotoRenderer.lowQuality.diffusedBounces=1 -Dcom.eteks.sweethome3d.j3d.PhotoRenderer.lowQuality.causticsPhotons=0 -Dcom.eteks.sweethome3d.j3d.PhotoRenderer.lowQuality.shininessShader=default -Dcom.eteks.sweethome3d.j3d.PhotoRenderer.lowQuality.normalLens.focusDistance=250. -Dcom.eteks.sweethome3d.j3d.PhotoRenderer.lowQuality.normalLens.radius=1 2. Batch rendering from Console? Is there a possiblity to do something like batch rendering directly from the console? I would need this, because i got quite a lot of images to render and it would take hours when doing with Q3 / Q4 settings. So my idea would be to do some kind of "distributed" rendering by building multiple command line files. Each file should start rendering only a few images and each file would be started on different computers. 3. Logfile of rendering? Is there any possiblity to write something like a logfile to at least know how long it took to render which image? 4. Rendered images filenames Is there a possiblity to add an timestamp into the filename somehow? thx |

Re: Rendering questions 1. If by black dots, you mean "noise", you should increase antiAliasing.min and antiAliasing.max, but that will lead to a slower rendering. See also the FAQ How can I speed up the rendering process in photo and video creation panes? 2. If 3D view > Create photos at points of view menu item isn't enough for you, you'll have to program a derived version of Sweet Home 3D. Look at this message to get the basic idea. 3. 4. Modifying the previous program will let you log whatever you want. Don't expect a special parameter in the program to switch logs on. I'm not found of logs and anyway, I feel it's quite useless in a program that requires a graphical user interface. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |
