Windows version crashes after startup with Java <binary has stopped working> error I have just installed the current version 4.2, and note that it installs its own copy of Java 1.6.0_45. The application starts, but as soon as I try to perform any fun ction (as simple as resizing the window, for example), it crashes with a java error: Java(TM) Platform SE binary stopped working I realise this is a java error rather than a SW3D error, but as the java version is delivered with the application, it does appear to be specific to this application. I have other versions of java installed and working OK, so is it possible to install it to run against my current java? Thanks. Geoffrey |

Re: Windows version crashes after startup with Java <binary has stopped working> error If you want to try with the Java version you installed, use the Java Web Start version or the JAR Executable version available at Download page. Otherwise it could be a driver issue. See the FAQ for suggestions. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Windows version crashes after startup with Java <binary has stopped working> error Thanks for the suggestions. I have downloaded the jar file, and tried that. When I run it, a java error log file is created immediately. I tried the 2D invocation as per the FAQ and that works, so I suspect the problem is in the rendering system. My drivers and DirectX drivers are all up to date. Geoffrey. Here are what I think are the relevant sections of the error log: |
