Texture collection + 3D models Today I stumbled upon an excellent collection of textures. They're free, no need to register, all seamlessly tileable. Navigation of the site isn't very easy; part of it is organised as a blog. Have a good look and you will find a wealth of textures. There is also a very nice collection of high quality Sketchup models with textures that (using SKetchup) can be easily converted to DAE models for SH3D. Re: Texture collection + 3D models Thanks. What is the site URL or name?---------------------------------------- If a long walk every day were healthy, mailmen would be immortal. ![]() |

Re: Texture collection + 3D models Thanks Hans. Looks very nice. ![]() And it's distributed under Creative Commons license but miserably its non commercial version (CC-BY-NC-ND). ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Texture collection + 3D models Just curious, why *miserably* CC-BY-NC-ND? Is there a preferred CC standard for use and sharing with SH3D? Or all public domain? ok PS By the way, as I am sure many will know, GIMP (www.gimp.org) comes with a seamless tool which can make a number of photos etc into nice textures for SH3D. |

Re: Texture collection + 3D models I'm miserable (but don't worry not that much!) because I'm still looking for a textures library I could redistribute for Sweet Home 3D users. But I prefer to avoid Non Commercial textures because it would be too restrictive for many users. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Texture collection + 3D models Ah yes, that explains your CC-BY-NC-ND misery. Glad you're not that miserable. May not be that much help, but I can provide you with a small library of seamless textures with a clear Scandinavian taste to supplement the existing collection (wood paneling :-) ). All compact, but rendering well in sh3d. Just need to tidy the sizes in the TextureLibraryEditor. ok ok |

Re: Texture collection + 3D models Just tried a couple of pattern generators (e.g. bgpatterns and bgmaker). Handy for making (seamless) wall-papers with little effort. ok |

Re: Texture collection + 3D models In case you didn't notice, Scopia and I released 84 textures under CC-BY license 3 days ago. I hope you'll like them and it will help contributors to create nicer models. ![]() ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Texture collection + 3D models Emmanuel, Very nice textures, thank you. I think, I should re-visit the wishlist and ask again that texture management in SH3D will be changed so that it resembles model management, including a search feature, etc. Hans ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |
