roof and surface questions Hello! I love this program ... although I will draw the actual building prints with Autocad, this is fantastic way to show non technical people how the house will actually look ... and a good double check for myself to make sure everything fits. Two questions: 1) How do you put a roof on a building? I don't see how I can put in a surface at an angle. I "cheated" for now, drawing the roof as section of sloping wall. 2) Is there a way of making a "wavy" surface. I have a topigraphical map of the lot I have purchased. It would be nice if I could enter a grid of 3D points (since I have all the elevation points) and then have the computer generate a surface ( the topography of the land). Thanks again so much ...... Re: roof and surface questions 1) How do you put a roof on a building? I don't see how I can put in a surface at an angle. Please read the FAQ How can I create a roof on top of a house?2) Is there a way of making a "wavy" surface? No, sorry no terraforming or topography tool is available. Hope you'll still like Sweet Home 3D after my answers. ![]() ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: roof and surface questions FANTASTIC! Sorry, somehow missed the tutorial on sloping ceiling guide. This is exactly what I need! This is still knew to me. I am a machinist / engineer designing a house. Till now my 3D experience has been with "parts" I was going to machine and for that I used either autocad or solidworks. I was just going to do 2D plans but my wife can not "picture" the house so I started using this program .... it's great!!! Thanks so very much!!!!! Mike |
