Java Problems I am having problems where Sweet Home 3D hangs on my Ubuntu PC. From the system monitor Java is running at 96% to 100% of the CPU when this happens. It seems to be a problem specific to my desktop as I have the program running OK on a netbook. I have also had some similar problems on a web based java program. I have installed the the official Sun Java RTE and switched to that rather than open JDK. I am now lost as to what else I can do. OS: Ubuntu 10.10 (64 bit) PC: Dell Inspiron 580 Processor: Intel Core i5 750 @ 2.67GHz Graphic Card: ATI Radeon HD 5450 Sweet Home 3D installed via the Ubuntu software centre. |

Re: Java Problems Ian, Ubuntu 10.10 should run SH3D without any problems. I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 (32-bits) in combination with OpenJDK Java 6. Your problem description isn't very clear. When exactly does your computer hang? Directly after starting the program? After trying to insert your first piece of furniture? The most common problem SH3D users have, is caused by an incompatible graphics card, especially on older (= approx 3+ years) computers. Read what the FAQ says, and what the Linux solution could be. You can easily download and install the latest version. It has been significantly improved over the version in the Ubuntu software centre.
