OBJ Problem Hi everybody, I'm using this nice program to create the layout of my new home and I would like to export my project in OBJ file and run a render with dedicated programs. My problem is that when I try to export the OBJ file, most of the items present in the project are not included in the new file. Thank you for your help! |

Re: OBJ Problem Maurosh, Before exporting your design, make sure that no items are invisible! If that doesn't help, maybe you can share your file, so we can have a look. Hans ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |

Re: OBJ Problem Thank you for your suggestion. I will try soon your trick since I'm sure i have invisible objects. Unfortunately, I cannot share the file due to its big size. By the way: can be even a problem of file size? |

Re: OBJ Problem No. It doesn't work. Just the walls and few random items are visible when I open the OBJ file with another program... |

Re: OBJ Problem Maurosh, There has been a similar incident, I believe. Start reading here , to see how strange a wall with texture can behave. Known causes of problems are: - too large textures (over 1024x1024 pixels) - too large files - certain DAE/Collada files, especially low-poly models - too many textures - not enough memory At www.mediafire.com you can upload large files. Downloading is not a problem. Hans ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |

Re: OBJ Problem Maurosh, After downloading your file, I had a quick look at it, and did a test-render in v3.0 and v2.6. I can't see any problems. When inspecting the sh3d-file, I noticed that the granite texture (item #89) is 1600x1200 pixels. You might consider making it smaller, e.g. 800x600 pixels. This would make rendering more reliable and faster without affecting the result. Also, your walls are semi-transparent, maybe this causes strange effects when exporting. Re: OBJ Problem Thanks Hans, but the problem seems to be different. I tried to export the OBJ file without granite texture and with solid walls but the result is the same. I have just the wals and sofa in the obj file. Regarding the internal rendering I have instead no problems. |

Re: OBJ Problem Maurosh, Indeed, this is strange. I'll investigate and let you know, but this may take longer than just a few minutes Hans ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |

Re: OBJ Problem Maurosh, Here's the solution, but it's not a quick one. Delete one of your models, export the rest, and re-import it. Keep doing this until it works okay. Start with the large, black roomdivider, and you will get more furniture in your exported file, but not everything. Keep trying until you find the next culprit. My guess is, they will be DAE models you found in Google Warehouse. Happy hunting! Hans ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |
