How Do I run this?

I extracted the .tar file but I cannot find any executable to run the program.
I have it placed in /home/<username>/Apps/SweetHome3D-1.1 but like I said, there's no way to run it! What do I click on to run it? Where's the script?

I thought this was for endusers who want to design homes.

Re: How Do I run this?

If you are under Ubuntu, double-click on SweetHome3D-1.1 file and click on Launch (or Run) button.
On other Linux systems, open a terminal, go to SweetHome3D-1.1 directory with command "cd", and run the command "./SweetHome3D-1.1"

It is, but there are too many configurations available for Linux, so I can't test each of them.
If you know a better way to run Sweet Home 3D on your Linux box, please share it here.

Re: How Do I run this?

Re: How Do I run this?

Sorry, I forgot that the command was SweetHome3D and not SweetHome3D-1.1. ;-)

Re: How Do I run this?

Best method for Linux users is what are known as installers. For Red Had based Linux (including Mandriva) these are .RPM http://www.rpm.org/ <- that page should contain all links to everything you ever wanted to know about them, and how they work. For Debian based Linux (including Ubuntu/Xubuntu/Edubuntu and many others) .DEB is the preferred installer. I don't see an information page about .deb format but can give a link to http://www.debian.org/intro/about for you to learn more about Debian itself.

Re: How Do I run this?

Well, I managed to upload the doors, and pybaret then downloaded them and made them in two different colors and reuploaded them :D

I still can't run this on my computer no matter how I try and at this point I've tried a lot of different things. My thing is if I can run OpenGL, and inbrowser Java - then why won't this program work (or for that matter those Java test things :D)

Re: How Do I run this?

I'm wondering the same thing.
Are there any missing Java packages, maybe? Do you have every Java package that is available for your system (and that is compatible with it)? I wouldn't know what to look for though.
