Suspended Ceiling

I just started using Sweet Home 3D and I think it is really great. I am running Ubuntu Linux so far so good.

We are going to remodel our kitchen and the adjoining mud room. The house was built circa 1860 and the kitchen is part of the original house and the mud room is a later add-on. I have modeled the four walls of the kitchen as 10 ft. high and the three walls (that join to the kitchen) of the mud room as 8 ft.high. When I "create a room" for the kitchen and one for the mud room, the ceiling is skewed in one corner to the height of the other room and I can't seem to "level" it out. I was thinking of making the walls all 10 ft. high and then adding a suspended ceiling to the mud room but don't see how to do it. I have reviewed the tutorial on sloped ceilings but still have not come up with a solution. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I came up with a fix. I created two walls separating the rooms with the total thickness equal to the original thickness. One wall I made 8ft high and the other 10ft and now the ceilings are displayed correctly.

You could also move the room edge a fraction away from the 'disturbing' wall, or create a false ceiling (room above), but your solution sounds better smile
