Hide Level
I downloaded this about 6 months ago and used it to model an extension to my home.
It is STUPIDLY good and I hate the way it makes me say "I wonder if I moved that over there...". I never get anything finished!
OK, to the subject. Think I saw this on a forum message from a while back, but I'd like to vote it up.
I know I can make Levels co-exist (brilliant feature) so they both share the same elevation.
I also know that I can group objects and make them [in]visible.
What I would like is the capability of making a Level invisible.
What this means is I could make a 'Ground floor Plan' with just the walls say. Make another that has (for example) Ground floor Plumbing' and when I'm placing furniture turn off the plumbing level as I don't care about it.
I also realise I could just make one big project with everything in and then make a copy and delete things, but this way the project is kept in one place and the features wanted can be selected as required.
(I don't really care about where I put electrical sockets when looking at moving a wall - later maybe, but not now).
My Java is a tad rusty (ha!, very rusty), but I would have thought that it might be quite quick as it is "just"* making a function that says 'x in in an invisible level'.
*I'm a developer and, trust me, I KNOW how stupid this statement is.
The actual case I am working on is where I am drawing in the walls, doors, systems but my other half is moving the kitchen/ furniture.
It would be nice not to have to change but just switch certain levels invisible rather than deleting them.
Oh, final thought, copying, not only from one level to another but also from one SH3D file to another - still brilliant!
