Modify furniture...

I have a house design that requires a curved stair. There is already an object of that design. Except I need the curve at the top, not the bottom. I have installed ArtOfIllusion and have read about importing object libraries. I am wondering if there is a way to export existing furniture so that they can be modified?

You can export to OBJ format from Sweet Home 3D and import the file in Art of Illusion.

That is great news. The bad news is I cannot figure out how to do it. I tried right clicking on the furniture but there was no export. I tried looking in the File menu but there was nothing. I tried looking under the Furniture menu but did not fine an export option. I even tried taking the object, putting it by itself in a design, and exporting the 3D view to an obj format file. ArtOfIllusion gave an error when I tried opening that file.

So how can I do it?

Thank you. :)

But I wanted a sharper change of direction at the top.

It looks like you didn't explore all the menus yet! wink
What about the Export to OBJ format item in the 3D view menu? If you want to export only one piece of furniture, your document must contain only that piece.

Re: Modify furniture...

Oops. I tried again and figured out how to do it. Thank you for the help. (I actually did that before I read your post.)
