Video enhancements: resize window, frame rate, time between poses

In the great tradition of looking a gift horse in the mouth, I have a number of suggestions for enhancing the "Create video..." window in SH3D (currently using version 3.5):

1) Make the video window resizable, just as the Background window is resizable. This would make the plan view area larger, making it much easier to see the path being taken (you'd have to keep the pose marker the same size relative to the screen so the markers would become separated).

2) Adjust output frame rate separate from the video format size, so that users can crank up the frame rate if desired

3) Smooth the motion as you pass through a "pose". Right now, the X/Y location, the body angle and the head angle (and probably the others) are all linearly interpolated between poses, which makes the resulting video look jerky. How about doing some sort of curve fitting along the points?

4) Allow specifying the velocity along the line of poses. It looks like now the viewpoint moves at a constant linear velocity, overridden by maximum body angle and head angle velocities (i.e. if you turn the body 180 degrees while not moving at all, the animation will stop the forward motion while slowly turning the body).

5) Make it easier to edit the poses along a path, rather than only being able to add a new pose after the last one, or delete the last pose. Some possibilities:

- Allow choosing a pose in the path by clicking on one of the pose markers; you could then adjust the pose and click the red button to change the pose in the path (or perhaps have both "Add New Pose" and "Modify Existing Pose" buttons)

- Get rid of the view path display in the "Create video" window, and show the path right in the main plan view. The pose points would look like the standard head-and-shoulders icon, perhaps in a different color. Adjusting a pose would mean dragging or adjusting the pose just like you do now. There'd be a "Plan" menu item to show/hide the path.

6) Allow different output formats. One useful one would be a folder of images, each being rendered from a different point along the path.

7) Add a linear dragger, calibrated in time, which would let you quickly move forward and back through the path.

8) Have a way to render a single photo (in a folder) at each pose. This would make it easier to generate a standard set of view images as you worked on various designs.

Thanks for listening,
Dan
