Issue with auto punching of holes for windows and sliding doors on walls
Hi, I am a newbie with this software and I am seeing an issue related to adding windows, doors on to the walls. I am not seeing holes punched on to the walls for windows, sliding doors etc. More over I not seeing 3D view always. Only way i see 3D view is 3dView -> display in separate window. Is there any way to see the 3D view dynamically while working on 2D view. May be I am missing some settings.. Code

Sudheer,
When downloading your file, I have a 1.5 Mb sh3d-file, that opens completely blank. When I inspect the file, I can see that you included a background plan, doors and windows, and a brick texture for walls.
But nothing at all is visible in the 2D or 3D window.
When I add my own walls or models, they show up as normal.

On my side your file is correct. My guess is that you disabled magnetism in the preferences or that you tried to place the windows with keyboard keys or changing their coordinates. If you want the window depth to be adapted to the thickness of a wall, you should move the window with the mouse.

You people are awesome. Thanks a lot for helping. Placing & adjusting windows with mouse instead of changing attributes with keyboard helped.I Think the depth field is the culprit. Seems I need to keep it default.

Emmanuel,
Strange behaviour? - When I opened the file the first time (Ubuntu 12.04, SH3D 3.5) I saw nothing. - When I opened the file a 2nd time (Ub 12.04, SH3D 3.4) it opened correctly, showing background, walls, etc. - When I opened the file again (Ub 12.04, SH3D 3.5) the program crashed before opening the file. - When I opened the file once more (Ub 12.04, SH3D 3.5) it opened correctly.
