Wie kriegt man Schrägdachfensgter hin?

Hi!

Tom

Re: Wie kriegt man Schrägdachfensgter hin?

Hi Hansmex,
At first:Sorry that last night i was a bit to lazy and overtired to write in proper english ;)
I´ve already raed the manual but that wasn´t related to the kind of roofwindow i mentioned. HAve a look at http://www.velux.de and you will immidiately see what kind of window i mentioned, not upright windows but diagonal inside the roof placed windows is what i need and this tutorial was made for roofs with what we call in German "Gaubenfenster" and not "Schrägdachfenmster" due to the orientation the Window is placed inside the roof itself.
Perhaps i should have posted the link to show what kind o window i mentioned immidiately in the beginning of the thread wink

Re: Wie kriegt man Schrägdachfensgter hin?

Tom,

Read that manual again... almost all the info is in it. Let me explain in shorthand:
1 - draw two walls at a 90 degree angle in the form of an A
2 - insert a window in one of the walls
3 - CopyAsNewFurniture
4 - Export as OBJ
5 - Import and rotate

Voila, a roof with a window. To make it perfect you have to prepare your window:
a - insert the desired window in an empty design
b - Export as OBJ
c - Import and rotate (so that it will fit correctly in the roof, once the roof is rotated to its final orientation)
d - use this window in step 2

Note: the Velux windows in the Sketchup Warehouse often are rotated 45 degrees (or so). That may make it difficult to insert them in a wall/roof. Use any ordinary window and give it the correct Velux-size.

Hans

PS: If you want your V-server question answered, ask it again in the English forum. I'm not sure Emmanuel will answer it when in German.
