Re: no user defined textures in image rendering?
Strider,
Beta versions are download-versions. Click the link above and the entire program is downloaded again. It should run directly. Every time you start the program again by clicking that same icon, the program checks whether the version is OK and then starts it. If your connection is erratic, you may experience problems. (Or at least it's something very similar, based on my experience with the last 48 betas.)

Re: no user defined textures in image rendering?
uh.. sorry my firewall was the reason (was set to "go away new programs"). do i need to run the programm now always with this file? or do i need to put it to some special place so it overwrites the current version of the program?

No I have Windows XP. when I run the downloaded file it works some and then I have the beta program, but when I close it and start the program as usual over the start menu its the un-beta again

Re: no user defined textures in image rendering?
well it did not put an icon on my desktop, but i can make a shortcut to the beta-patch (even so it needs longer to start as it downloads the program every time, but doesn't tell me where or installs it)
so: starting SweetHome3D.exe gives me version 3.0 starting SweetHome3D.3.1.beta.jsnp needs a minute, then i have version 3.1 beta

Re: no user defined textures in image rendering?
Strider,
The behaviour you describe seems normal to me. I use Ubuntu, but v3.1 behaves the same.
I'm not a Windows specialist, but it seems to me that if you leave the files in your Temp directory, they won't be downloaded again. The small program checks whether everything is present, and if so, starts v3.1.
If I'm wrong, I'm sure Emmanuel will correct me when he reads this.

Re: no user defined textures in image rendering?
SilentStrider, the beta version isn't downloaded each time you launch it unless you refused the option to create an application for it. Anyway a beta version is a beta version and I don't want to spend more time on its installation mode. Sorry to say that, but if it doesn't satisfy you, you should wait patiently the release (it won't happen before a while though).
