Hi, I just started using SW3D a couple of days ago and have put together the first floor plan of our house by drawing the outer perimeter and then putting in the interior walls. One of the rooms is a step down from the other rooms but I can't find any option to change the level of that room. Do I have to recreate the house plan by using the create room method in order to change the elevation of that one room?

Re: how to drop the elevation of a room
If you didn't find the option to change floor elevation, it's because it doesn't exist. The only workaround is to place boxes at floor level that will simulate the elevation of the step.

So, I would have to go back in and raise the elevation of all the other rooms by drawing a box in each room that fills the entire floor, and also raise the height of the wall so that each of those rooms are still 8 ft high. Is that correct?

Re: how to drop the elevation of a room
George,
The easiest way to create a multi-level house, is to install and use the CopyAsNewFurniture plug-in. See the tutorial.
Draw each floor separately, then use Tools --> CopyAsNewFurniture to copy an entire floor and stack it on top of another floor.
There is a tutorial on how to build multi-level houses, but it's a bit outdated. I just finished revising it, but it hasn't been published yet. Send me your email address and I will send you the revised tutorial.
