bug: undo doesn't return texture to colour

Emmanuel,

I found a little bug, that I can't replicate easily. I made a composite object, then attached a texture, then decided I didn't like the texture, so I hit Undo. Instead of returning to the previous colour (red), the model returned to white, even though the red colour is still in the settings.

The SH3D-file is here .

EDIT
To make it easier for you to find the bug: when reloading the file the colour returned to red, of course!

Re: bug: undo doesn't return texture to colour

Hello hans!
I dont know about java so i cannot tell you the technical problem but i found out one thing since you boxes are group in several stepslike two boxex at first two steps and three for another three steps and like that it might be the problem when i ungrouped all the boxes and changed the texture and finally groupd them all at once it doesnot show the problem you have said......and you way of making the stairs i found it quit difucult and no offence but it is annoying to change or modify.
if i were designing stairs like your i would use single box and increase elevation only because i thing it will use less boxes and the file will be less in size and rendering would be easy as well.....

love struck Re: bug: undo doesn't return texture to colour

And there is another thing i would like to suggest to you its nothing necessary but if you like perfection in your models then...
the box we have in the miscellanious two sides of it doesnot take the textures we apply so i would suggest that you change the orientation of the box to display textures in all visible sides like i have changed few of the boxes in the pictures below but since you design is difficult to change all the boxes so i did only two boxes.....

i hope you understand what i am trying to show you

compare first two steps on lift with the first two steps on the rignt you will understand how the textures differ

Re: bug: undo doesn't return texture to colour

wrosun,

Thanks for your observations.
I'm familiar with the texture problem on boxes, but because I didn't want textures on them, the orientation wasn't important to me.

Re: bug: undo doesn't return texture to colour

Hans, the bug your mentioned at the beginning of this thread is fixed in the current version 3.1 beta.
Thank you for reporting it. smile

By the way, I also added in this new beta an icon beside the time spinner in photo and video creation dialogs to indicate if the selected time matches day or night. Hope you like it.

Emmanuel,

I tested the original file in v3.0 and v3.0b9 and the problem is indeed solved.
Thank you very much!
