And of course you also visited the Documentation page and read the special tutorial describing in detail how all the plug-ins work, how to install them, etc....
So, maybe you should describe in more detail what your problem is: which operating system, which version of Java and SH3D, etc.

Re: advancedrendering-1.6
The plugin is now in the plugin folder as described, next to homerotator. When I click homerotator plugin it says: it is allready installed, which is OK, but when I click AdvancedRendering-1.6.sh3p.sh3d I get - can't open home and then the link. In the program I get the rotate buttons under the plan menu, but the create photo still shows the old version. I am using windows xp and all the latest downloads from the site.

Re: advancedrendering-1.6
Poul,
I'm not the installation specialist, that's Emmanuel, but there's a few remarks I'd like to make.
1 "Latest downloads" means you are using SH3D v3.0 beta 14. As far as I know you can't use the Adv.Render plug-in with that version. At least >I< can't (under Linux-Ubuntu). This plug-in works only on the installed version. Is says so clearly in the plug-in tutorial!
Note 1: This plug-in only works on the installed version of SweetHome3D.
So, you have to choose: - use the installed version 2.6 and the Adv.Render plug-in, or - use the newer v3.0 b14 and use 3D view --> Create photo , which basically gives you the same possibilities and quality, but now built into the program
2 - I doubt that AdvancedRendering-1.6.sh3p.sh3d is a valid file name. But maybe it's just a typo. A plug-in ends in .sh3p and a saved design file ends in .sh3d.

Re: advancedrendering-1.6
Poul,
If the help provided in this website (documentation, user guide, video tutorial, and plug-in manual) isn't clear enough, please, let us know how we can improve, so that everybody understands and we don't have to answer the same questions over and over again.
It's not that we don't want to do it, but it seems a bit odd that people are able to write, but cannot read a manual...

Re: advancedrendering-1.6
Hi Hans - Back to my first question: The advancedrendering did not work when I clicked on it on the desktop, I had to place it manually in the plugin folder. And it still does not show up on the 2.6 !!! Clicking on in the plugin folder gives the error message "can't open home and then the link ending with the AdvancedRendering-1.6.sh3p.sh3d"
I also have 3.0 beta 14 and you said it basically does the same using the create photo - 3D setting, so I thought I would go with that. But I did not get the advancedrendering 1.6 plugin to work.

Re: advancedrendering-1.6
Poul,
1 - Version 3.0 b14 has the plug-in built-in. So when in SH3D v3.0 b14 you click 3D view --> Create photo and you will see a pop-up window where you can choose how your picture should look. You should also look at Plan --> Modify compass to set up your location on the globe (longitude, latitude) as that influences where the sun will be in your design.
2 - I also have a Windows laptop (Vista) which I rarely use. But, the way >I< installed the plug-ins there was just copying them into the directory where they are supposed to be, and then re-start SH3D. It worked for me. Maybe you should give it a try that way. And (better safe than sorry) download them afresh!
The plug-ins were NOT designed to work with v3.0, but with v2.0 (or 2.1, 2.2 etc). They may (or not) work in v3.0, but is has been reported that there has been a change in the directory structure (or something) between v2.6 and v3.0. Seen that v3.0 has not been published yet, and still has beta status, we cannot yet test that.
I also have 3.0 beta 14 and you said it basically does the same using the create photo - 3D setting, so I thought I would go with that. But I did not get the advancedrendering 1.6 plugin to work.
I said something else:
So, you have to choose: - use the installed version 2.6 and the Adv.Render plug-in, or - use the newer v3.0 b14 and use 3D view --> Create photo , which basically gives you the same possibilities and quality, but now built into the program
Now, please, read this twice, and make sure you understand the difference. The keywords are "you have to choose" and "or".

Re: advancedrendering-1.6
Hello Hans - I installed the 2.6 on another computer (no 3.0 beta 14), downloaded the 1.6 plugin and it installed when I clicked on it. Yes, it is in the plugin folder. Then opening the program, did a new drawing and then create photo - I do not see the advanced rendering settings in the popup window, what do I do wrong? Is this an XP permission (hidden folder) kind of thing?

Re: advancedrendering-1.6
Poul, the plug-in can be accessed by the menu item Tools > Create advanced photo...
