Driver problems

I'm running SuSE 11.2 and I have NVidia's driver installed.
Recently I accepted an update for xorg.
This is from the zypp log:

# 2010-09-08 12:22:38 xorg-x11-server-7.4-61.64.1.i586.rpm installed ok
# Additional rpm output:
# Updating etc/sysconfig/displaymanager...
# Starting SuSEconfig, the SuSE Configuration Tool...
# Running module permissions only
# Reading /etc/sysconfig and updating the system...
# Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.permissions...

Now my SweetHome3D app won't start! It says:
"Fatal error in 3D rendering system.
Update DirectX Opengl drivers of your computer graphics card."

I don't think there are any updates for this (at least not yet)
Is there someway to run SH3D anyway? Art Of Illusion has no problem starting and running despite the xorg update.

I'm very sad. Now I cannot check how my latest model (a new version of the sink) might look or if it would work. :(

sad Re: Driver problems

ok, I tried SH3D in a terminal and this is what I got:

./SweetHome3D
Java 3D WARNING : reported GLX version = 1.2
GLX version 1.3 or higher is required
The reported version number may be incorrect. There is a known
ATI driver bug in glXQueryVersion that incorrectly reports the GLX
version as 1.2 when it really is 1.3, so Java 3D will attempt to
run anyway.
Canvas3D_createNewContext: couldn't create context
Error in Java 3D : 3 Renderer: Error creating Canvas3D graphics context

Java was also updated from the system updater too. I'm wondering if that had anything to do with it?

Anyway, I didn't change my video driver - it's the same one (from NVidia) that successfully ran SH3D 2.6 a couple of days ago.

Like I said, I'm running SuSE 11.2 and SH3D ran fine without problems before these system updates.

P.S. I tried a rendering from Art Of Illusion and it starts up and renders just fine.
I've also tried to run Extreme Tux Racer but that won't start. Same problem as SH3D I'm afraid:

*** etracer error: Couldn't initialize video: Could not create GL context (Resource temporarily unavailable)

Re: Driver problems

Generally, the warning doesn't prevent you from running Sweet Home 3D (I've got the same warning under Ubuntu 8).
I read in a French forum that sometimes it fails because of the Java version you use (OpenJDK or SunJDK).
How do you run Sweet Home 3D? From its installer or the Java Web Start link?

Re: Driver problems

From the installer like this:
/home/<username>/SH3D/SweetHome3D-2.6/SweetHome3D

And it won't run, it just shuts down. :(
I just tried it from the webstart method and I get the same results, "Fatal error" and it exits.

I do have Sun's java installed.

I reported the problem on the OpenSuSE forum and was told to try reinstalling the video driver (http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-help-h...ined-app.html#post2220727) So I am hoping that will do the trick.
