Polyline - how to delete a point, version 7.6
Polyline - how to delete a point in version 7.6? I can't find a menu or anything to do this. AI says there is a modify menu, but I don't have one. Double-clicking opens a Modify polylines dialog but there is no item to show or delete points. What can one do please?

Version 7.6? I assume a typo, the lastest version is 7.5.
Unfortunately you can't delete a point from a polyline. You will have to draw a new line or leave the point in the middle of a straight line.
Don't depend on what an AI says, they are very unreliable for finding answers and often plainly wrong. For example this question about removing a point. You can add and remove points on a room and the AI focusses on "remove point" and doesn't take into account that a polyline is not the same as a room. Search this forum and you will have a much better chance of finding a correct answer.

Thanks Keet, very helpful - I can stop looking! Yes, I take your point about AI, that's why I posted in the forum.
Do you think a feature to add and remove points in polylines could be implemented? Even just remove a point if it's difficult to implement add as well.
Btw my About screen does say it's version 7.6. It may be wrong of course....

Check this thread. Perhaps you should replace your wrong version with the latest 7.5 from the download page.

1. Install Advanced Editing plugin; 2. Draw a polyline; 3. Menu: Plan -> Edit points... (or the icon from top-right).
You could add, delete or set a precise position of selected point. Could be also used for rooms.

Aaaarrgh, I totally forgot about that little gem since I rarely use polylines. It should be available in the contect menu of a polyline, not hidden away in the plan menu. But anyway, @John37, you CAN edit the points following what dorin wrote.

It should be available in the context menu of a polyline....
...and a room also BUT I've tried (probably not enough) to do this for others plugins (like Distribute elevation) and I wasn't able to do it. Probably Puybaret could give us a hint howto do it without hacking the main program.
...not hidden away in the plan menu.
There is also some icons on the toolbar.

Re: Polyline - how to delete a point, version 7.6
I noticed the icon, much easier than the menu. The funny thing is that I do edit room points a lot but always with the mouse in the 2D view because the points easily snap to corners or another room with magnetism.
Emmanuel Puybaret can probably give a hint IF there is a function for it that is accessible from a plugin. (My guess is that its a Swing JPopupMenu you need access to for adding an item.)
