I like the idea of a community challenge but as it appears there are some problems with the choosen platform. If you read my post on the dodecagon thread and the follow-up posts from some very respected Advanced Members it's obvious that the choosen platform for submitting projects will (possibly) miss out on some excellent showcases. Either because members can't or refuse to use social media, or simply because they have no access to it (Russia and probably others). This is a worldwide community and it takes some time to get used to the possibilities this opens but it also has some limitations that come with it. Social media might be good as a marketing tool to get more people to use Sweet Home 3D but considering the worldwide community it is not a platform that allows every member to be involved with this challenge. As I said, I like the idea. Unfortunately, as it is, I and others can't participate. Even worse, we can't see the submissions of other members.
I would like to make a suggestion. This is not critisism but honest interest to see how this goes and how big the respons is. To be honest, I have a personal interest in this because I have been planning a community project for a long time.
My suggestions: * Move the upload of projects/images to the Sweet Home 3D site. * Show the submissions on the Sweet Home 3D site. An extra page for this challenge should be relatively easy. * Extend the deadline with at least a month. The given time was already short but by now several members have run into the social media problem and decided not to participate. With some extra time and usage of the Sweet Home 3D site that might change. I can spend a lot of time with Sweet Home 3D and could probably create a new home in a week but not everyone has that luxury. For a challenge they will want to create something exceptional and that takes time.
We have an amazing Sweet Home 3D community where many members are very active on the forum with answers and unique ideas. Many are VERY knowlegable about Sweet Home 3D, each with their areas of expertise where they are experts, not just advanced users. Use those assets! Ask what they want if you have ideas like the community challenge. You will be surprised how much support and ideas are offered.

I also like the idea, but the use of so-called "social" networks, which are only social in name, is not for me. We have a community here that is more than enough for me, and I don't need to look elsewhere!

Bonjour. Je suis aussi de l'avis de Keet, Hansmec et Vinci68 concernant les réseaux sociaux. Sur le plan personnel, je n'en utilise aucun. Mais je vais quand même essayer de réaliser quelques vues de la "maison de mes rêves".

Let me tell you what I understand.SpaceMushroomsy is supposed to be holding this event to make Sweet Home 3D better money. What they need is not for you to see how good the work is. You can tell by their conditions of participation.What SpaceMushrooms needs is for us old members to go and help them increase video traffic to their Instagram account. Because if we don't go and help them add it, then it's going to be hard for them to get video traffic. Why Instagram? Because they feel like the buyers who are willing to pay money are on Instagram. As I've said before, users don't usually come to this forum. Outreach is needed. So this move by SpaceMushroomsy can't be said to be a bad thing. Change is better than no change. So, I went. I was in China though, and I wasn't supposed to have access to Instagram. But I managed to get in, signed up for an account. And dedicated over 20 hours to rendering a modern interior to submit. Sort of help them out~ For those who can't see it, I'm posting the image here too~

We chose Instagram simply because it makes it easier to share multiple projects at once and to connect more directly with users through private conversations. But we want to be very clear: this is not a commercial decision. In fact, we’re only promoting the challenge here on the forum — not through ads or paid campaigns.
We truly care about our long-time users — you are the heart of Sweet Home 3D. This initiative is all about getting to know the community better, discovering your amazing projects, and creating a moment of shared inspiration.

@SpaceMushrooms It doesn't matter if this was a commercial decision or not, choosing Instagram to reach new users is probably a good choice, nothing wrong with there also being a commercial reason. But... the forum is where everything concerning Sweet Home 3D happens. It's a huge knowledgebase and THE single point for support. Support that is currently carried by members until you are more familiar with the software. New users need that support because every new software program has its own intricacies when you start using it. My personal opinion is that it would be better to have the challenge here on the forum and showcase renderings on Instagram with a link to the forum. That way new users can also see the huge support that is available. Browsing through the topics they get to see much more than only the renderings of the challenge. It also avoids splitting groups of users over separate locations. It's only a matter of time before you will get questions on Instagram, questions that you really want on this forum because most answers will probably be here already. But that is not the only advantage of the forum over social media. Instagram is blocked in multiple countries, meaning that you miss those users by default. The forum -as far as I know- is not blocked anywhere. And of course there is that growing group that avoids social media anyway, some of the members in that group are very experienced and could really showcase what is possible with Sweet Home 3D. As I wrote in another post, I like the idea. But don't underestimate the power of this wonderful and friendly forum that Emmanuel Puybaret created. Its virtually half the value of Sweet Home 3D. There are very few forums where questions are answered so fast and elaborate as here.
