Not a 3D problem, 2D massive slow-down on 'busy' project
Hello I am using SH3D to create a neighborhood map, using a satellite image as background to trace the buildings and roads. I use 'walls' for roads, paths, buildings, etc because they can be bent unlike polylines into an arc. It's fairly tedious but the end result is nice.
The issue I have been experiencing is only happening on the latest map. After placing most of the houses, roads, trails I am adding driveways to each house, also made with walls (one on each side). After doing a few of these, the program slowed down so much as to become unusable:
Extending a 'wall' normally takes a couple of seconds (click on wall, drag the [+] to where the wall should end, longer wall appears), only now it takes 3 WHOLE MINUTES to stretch 1 line, and other actions are experiencing a similar delay of 1-3 minutes.
This is an older computer but it is not 'that' old, Core i7-2600 processor and 8GB Ram running Windows 10. Do I just have too much going on in one model?

It's a known 'issue'. The problem is lots of (long) walls. I have experienced the same because I have a few very large projects with lots of long walls (real walls, not stubs for something different). Where possible try to use something else instead of walls.

Thanks, that's a bummer but we are getting an upgrade on the desktop with more ram/newer faster processor so hopefully that will mitigate a little bit. is there another existing object I can curve/arc like the wall that you are aware of? It does not need to be 3D at this point.
Another trick is to use Rooms for roads/driveways. Enclose the area in walls and double click inside to create a room. Then remove the walls. A room is a much simpler object than a wall and you can still take advantage of curves like with walls. It's also easy to modify it by editing the room points. A room also has the advantage (for a road) that is has no height.
You can create road pieces with walls or rooms and export these. Then import an re-use them like with the models from the library.

Ugh, that slowdown’s rough! I hit something similar in SH3D with a big 2D park layout. Tons of walls tanked it. Try splitting the project into smaller files or simplifying arcs.
