Re: textures are laggy
Is this with every project or just this one? I see a lot of walls. In my experience a lot of long walls cause this behaviour. If only this project has the problem and only this project has many long walls than that is your problem.
Second question would be, is there a way to use GPU for rendering instead of CPU?
Unfortunately, no.

Re: textures are laggy
I doubt is has anything to do with the version of Sweet Home 3D. Larger projects require more processor power to generate the 3Dview simply because there is more to process. At some point this causes slow response times, although with the system specifications you mentioned that should take a very big project. It sometimes helps a little to close the project and start again. I think your main problem is the number and length of walls. Walls require more CPU power than for example a box with the same size as a wall. I work a lot with very big projects and I see the same with many long walls.
I don't know if it works in your case but there is a bit of an awkward trick to temporarily get around this. Make sure you have all walls on their own level at the same elevation as where the other objects reside. Make only the walls level visible, select them all and export them to an object. Backup/Copy all the walls to a new separate project file and remove them from your original file. Import the exported walls object in place of the walls. Modify the object and check "Part of base plan". Lock the base plan with the little lock on the top-left corner of the 2D view. Now you can work with the other objects and have much faster response times. Of course this doesn't work for doors and windows, for that you need the original walls, but for other work in the project this might be a temporary solution. In the end you delete the walls object and copy the walls back from the saparate project file.
