Tips to speed up renderings
Hi everyone,
I've been playing around with adding models to a room design and rendering it out to a video. The issue I'm having is how long it takes for relatively short videos to render so I'm hoping there's maybe some tips on how to speed it up a bit. I understand its not a quick process anyways, but waiting 24-48 hours for a 60 second render under 1280*720 resolution in high quality is a pretty long time.
I am running SH3D on a brand new pretty decent PC with an RTX 4060ti, an Intel Core i7 14700F CPU, and 32GB ram. It's not a full-on creators/animators PC but I think its respectable.
One tip I know of is to reduce the size of the models in the room. The files I'm using are relatively large, some as big as 26835kb. This undoubtedly is contributing to the long render times, so I plan on loading the files into Blender and reducing the mesh/resolution of the models and reloading them into the room.
Beyond this however, are there any other tips out there to help get these renders done a little quicker?

Re: Tips to speed up renderings
to speed up rendering avoid these as much as possible: -transparency -mirrors -(number of) lights
You already noticed that the size of objects makes a difference. Using Blender to reduce vertice & face counts does help but you will have to be aggressive. If you have objects that are used in high numbers than these are especially interesting to optimize as far as possible. One face less for a hundred objects means 100 less faces to render.
The Sweet Home 3D renderers (Sunflow & Yafaray) both use the CPU for rendering so a faster graphics card changes nothing.
