curtain problem (sweethome 7.5 version)
i have installed the latest version SweetHome3D-7.5-windows (64bits) but the problem with the curtains continues.
now its no longer just a transparency issue, it seems be a rendering problem.
i searched the forum and found the following solution.
change its transparency setting in the MTL file used with the OBJ file you imported (if it's not the case export it to OBJ format). The transparency factor of a material is set on a line starting by d (0 for fully transparent to 1 for opaque).
that's what i did
i then imported the object into my library and attached it to the house plan.
then when exporting the image both in sunflow and yafaray the problem appears.
the transparency is gone but the rendering still adds that intense sheen on an object that's clearly made of fabric and not plastic.
some points to mention:
1. shininess is at Matt (0) 2. i even tried dark colors but the problem still continues 3. i also tried using other textures from the library on the curtain but did not get any solution.
i hope that some developer will pay attention to this problem, i would like to find a solution

Re: curtain problem (sweethome 7.5 version)
First visit this page and download the pdf "MTL_file_explained.pdf". That way you can understand the purpose of all the values in a MTL file.
Is your MTL file formatted like in the image with all properties on a single line? If so start with each property on their own line. See the example in the pdf.
In the image you have set the d value to 1.66. d should have a value between 0 and 1. (1=100% opaque, 0.5=50% opaque). If you export the curtain from the catalog the d value is 0.66. I appears that you changed the 0 into 1 and left the .66 untouched.
To remove all shininess set Ns to 0.0. (Although 1.0 is already a very low value since the range for Ns is 0-1000.)
With illum 1 you can remove the Ks value. It is not used with illumination model 1.
That said, I don't think this is a rendering problem. I think the model itself is the problem (not the texture). Since you tried other textures and the same problem occurs this would clearly suggest that the model mesh is the cause of the artifacts.
