House on a land - how to use levels

Hello,

Besides sketching my house, I'd also like to plan its placement on the land. I noticed that the way to go is to use level for the land at the same elevation as the house. However I see no way to see both levels at the same time and I need this to put the house relative to the objects being features of the land.

Is it possible, if not is there any other method of doing this?

When you open a second level, both levels have a tab at the top of the design quadrant, directly under the menu bar. When you double-click the tab, you can make the level (in)visible.

Or you could right-click and select Make selected level unviewable .

Levels are stacked upon each other in the 3D view, i.e. when the menu item 3D view > Display selected level is selected, you see the selected level and all the levels below it.
If you created the land level after the level where you house is designed, you should probably reorder them to see your house on the land: double click on the tab of its level and change its order with the arrows on the right of levels table show in the level modification dialog box (these arrows are available only for levels at the same elevation as another level).

You could also select the menu item 3D view > Display all levels, but it's still interesting to understand how levels are handled when the option 3D view > Display selected level is selected.

Re: House on a land - how to use levels

Now I see my mistake: the level designated as land was initially empty, and when I clicked on its tab it covered the home level, thus I thought that both could not be visible. Now after your reply I rethought what I was doing before and as soon as I added some lines on land level I can see them too after switching to home level.

Thank you hansmex.
