Have a free copy that works then bought a paid copy from Microsoft store and it gives me a driver error directx/open GL and shuts down. why does free version work and paid version doesn't? Running windows 10 upgrade version on a dell laptop. thank you for any replies!

Re: Free version works-paid version gives driver error
I guess your computer is running under Windows 10 64 bit, but you installed and run the free version of Sweet Home 3D in 32 bit. This is the default architecture used in Sweet Home 3D installer in recent versions, to avoid the kind of problem you and a few other users reported under Windows 10 64 bit (the 32 / 64 bit architecture can be set in the installer screen showing the destination folder).
Unfortunately, the Microsoft Store version doesn't allow to install Sweet Home 3D in 32 bit under Windows 10 64 bit too. I reported it but I don't think Microsoft will change this.
Therefore, you should use the free version with the additional libraries found on sweethome3d.com or found in the folders C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\eTeks.SweetHome3D_6.2.1.0_x64__y7v7etvrysvmm\resources\furniture and C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\eTeks.SweetHome3D_6.2.1.0_x64__y7v7etvrysvmm\resources\textures of the paid version (just keep a copy of the SH3F and SH3T files, and double click on them after uninstalling the paid version and reinstalling the free version).
