Kitchens
Hi!
I love kitchens design, I love cooking and so I love kitchens that are organized in a good way, with everything at hand.

Here is a small project of a kitchen I realized some days ago.

I used it especially to try to play with the lights, because I am still not able to reach renderings with good lights, I tried by using the light panels, but without success, here I used it to realize the lights above the kitchen's sink.

Hope to see someone else's kitchen! :)

Hi AdeleAlli
Nice work, cabinet lighting works well and the open drawer i like, might suggest you adjust the "stepped" tiling slightly to match the tile size, looks good regardless of that though.

I also noticed that problem, I will adjust it soon. :) Thank you for the suggestion!

Very nice, AdeleAlli. And making a good kitchen is challenging. I am afraid I have no drawings to share, but three times I have built kitchens, and only the last time I managed to get one that worked exactly the way I wanted. Nothing spectacular, and ignoring the advice of several kitchen planners, but in use for 10 years now - and I still appreciate the layout every day.

Your kitchen really looks like a great place to cook with friends. My preference, but that is just a matter of personal taste, would be to move the cooker/stove further away from the sink to have more open bench to work on (and also to avoid having water and an electric cooker/stove too close, building requirements). You could possibly consider making the benches/cabinets deeper since it seems you have room to spare where the tea-towels are. I also like L shaped work spaces with one bench under a window - and lots of (low) light sources to combine ambiance with good work-lights.

ok

The characteristics you described are very good, and also I like kitchens like those ones. This was a simple model created especially to experiment with lights, but I will try to do something different similar to what you described. Thank you!

Re: Kitchens
Hello,

Nice rendering but where is natural light from windows ?

Hi, the rendering is realized setting the clock time to 2 PM ( so at night, so it is difficult to have light from outside). Anyway, the window is on the left side of the kitchen looking at the rendering I posted.

The project was used to play with lighting, but not that of sh3d but using spot lights, and the light panels. This is why the time is set when no outside natural light is present.

Thank you for the question :).

Here is a rendering with the window, using the natural outside light and the lights over the dining table.

Re: Kitchens
Ah yes, now you show the best parts with the L shape and the window. Actually, from work-wise it is pretty close the kitchen I am so pleased with. And I usually have lilies as well smile The one advice I ignored, and still happy I did, was to place the cook-top in the corner (without enlarging the bench in the corner). Then the fan/ventilator can suck the air outside too.

I would, however, from a practical point of view, extend the top cabinets to the ceiling to avoid grease, and dust on top. A total pain to clean. And if you have a dishwasher, place it directly underneath the cupboards where you have plates and glasses.

Great kitchen, and the green colour is very similar to the one we consider using for the next brush-up. Thanks for posting.

ok

Here is another kitchen used to experiment and play with lights in order to find a good setup and so a nice rendering, hope it seems good to you, and I am as always open to suggestions! :)

I think you are right, I will adjust the top cabinets. I know, the dust is everywhere, especially if you live in a big and polluted city.

Hope to see some renderings of your kitchen! :)

Re: Kitchens

Really? Thank you Clintdad, I made it very very quickly last night, but I am happy you find it lovely. Only one question, are you referring about the corner kitchen or the last one with the "It's coffee time" poster?
Have a nice day!

i prefer the 2nd one, lacks worktop space, from this angle, but the cabinets and lighting seem better.

Hi Mike,
thank you for telling me your preference. I thought of using as a worktop space the place where the apples are, in general :). But at the left side of the cooker there is more space, maybe I will post another rendering from a different point of view :).

Hi Adele
Both these kitchens look great! Did you create the cabinets from scratch or did you find them somewhere? Im fairly new to SH3D and currently working on a. design for an open plan living room kitchen for my flat but can't find a decent range of kitchen cabinets to use.

Hi Timberr,
the cabinets are models already present in the sh3d furniture library, or taken from archive3d.

Some models are modified but only hiding some parts of it, no model is created by me from scratch. I would like to create a kitchen by me, using blender but it is still wip.

Hello all,
I am missing from a lot of time here in Sweethome3d. I was looking at some of my old projects, and just found a kitchen that I made some years ago... here it is:
