Room with a hole By which I mean a room that contains an area that is not the room I set up a boundary of walls as the outer perimeter, but within that placed a smaller group of contiguous walls that I assumed would therefore not be part of the outer room. But when double clicking in the appropriate area, the resulting room fills the entire outer perimeter with no notice whatsoever taken of the smaller inner walled area, now completely covered by the large room, which was rather surprising since I thought that by default a room would not cross a wall. So how can I do this? Create a room with such a 'hole'? In fact I'm just trying to define an area of grass that has something else in the middle (i.e. no grass). So how can I do this? |

Re: Room with a hole So Hans, you crafted this manually ? Point is if you create a room within a room with the wall of the inner room not touching the wall of the outer room, the clicking the the room area between the walls will create a room are covering also the space in the inner room. But ass soon as the inner wall touch the outer walls it will recognize the rooms as separate. ![]() |

Re: Room with a hole That's what I found, so I used a small wall to connect the 2 and it worked. I made the wall very narrow so not visible in 3D. Seems like this shouldn't really be necessary. Why not just fill in the connected space between walls, so any inner walled area would be left out automatically. That would make good sense to me. |
