obj file to dae file strange errors Hi, I'm trying to convert from the exported file in Sweet Home (obj) to Collada file .dae , but in process I've founded some problems: Using this online tool , I upoload both .obj and .mtl files, and the .dae file is generated but without color. Using meshlab, he gives the follow error: Error encountered while loading file: habitacion.obj Error details: Identical vertex indices found in the same faces -- faces ignored Then the obj is loaded, but when I try to export as .dae then the color is lost. Using Maya, he gives the follor error: Error: line 0: OBJ file line 616: index out of range for face creation. Error: line 0: Error reading file. and stops the import. can somebody help me with this problem? the file is in this link |

Re: obj file to dae file strange errors Importing your OBJ files work in Sweet Home 3D, Blender and Wings3D and exporting to DAE format worked in Blender and Wings3D. So I guess meshlab and Maya aren't able to reuse a vertex of a shape in another shape (here it's vertex #184). Strange, it seems to be a good way to optimize OBJ files size, and I don't think OBJ format description says it's forbidden. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |
